Do You See "The Elephant In The Room" At This JW Regional Convention?
by JW GoneBad insomeone posted this image on their facebook page of a recent jw rc showing a rather petite group of baptismal candidates.
notice there are nearly 75 seats (5 rows) reserved for the occasion.
by my count...it looks like between 17 to 19 were baptized...with total attendance of 6,000. the youngest among them looks like between 9 and 11 years old.

If you were about to purchase a new car ( ie: Ford) and the Ford dealer warned you not to look at other vehicle makes or to read about or believe any information about Ford vehicles unless it came from them, you'd likely be very suspicious. For fear that they were trying to hide something, you might even make of point of going out and doing exactly what they said not to do.
If you were to be that careful about the purchase of a car, why would you not thoroughly research from outside sources a religion that you're about to join and hear what others have to say about it, especially if you believe your eternal life is at stake?

I remember how nervous I was when I got baptized at 17....it was a really big deal to me. In view of that, I feel sorry for that one young boy sitting all by himself...kind of a lonely occasion for him it seems.

Does your Kingdom Hall have Cockroaches cause them shoes are what ya' call "Roach Killers"... you trap them when they run into a corner and get em' with the point of your fancy shoe. Round toed shoes are too short to reach into the corner.

So heartbreaking to read the Father's words about his daughter and to image the kind of pain he must be in over this senseless occurrence. What a person is, often shows on their face and she looked to be lovely woman.

According to the Old Testament aren`t YHWH God and the then Nation of Israel guilty of War crimes by today`s standards? ?
by smiddy3 injust going by memory here with regard to the "old testament' when god promised the land he chose for the jews ,flowing with milk and honey ?.
their is no record in the bible of god ever giving an option to all the nations that already lived their to move on and he would compensate them at a new destination.?.
apparently without warning he just charged up the israelite`s for war with these nations to evict them from this territory that they had resided in for who knows how long.. not only that ,they apparently spared no one in their conquests killing man, woman and even dashing children to pieces ,and not feeling sorry for anyone.. don`t people think that this is a bit barbaric ?.

Biblical accounts such as this make it easy for JWS today to “ dehumanize” the rest of the non JW world so they can feel positively giddy at the thought of them all soon being destroyed.

kingdom halls
by inbetween09 inthis weeks meeting features a video about maintaining kingdom halls.
it mentions a few times, how kh belong to jehovah, and are dedicated to him.. anybody ever wondered, if they belong to jehovah, how come, they are being sold all the time?
can you give something to jehovah and then take it back?

....and Jehovah told us that he wants us to sell his Kingdom Hall, keep the proceeds and he wants you to keep sending us additional money. He told us that a faithful sheep follows instructions without asking questions or needing proof even if what they’re being instructed to do seems suspicious.

Pale.Emperor Summons Some Demons
by pale.emperor inremember when we were jws and all loved to hear demon stories?
and then there was always that paranoid person that would shut us up "in case they're listening"?
and the resident crazy every congregation seems to have that claims to have been possessed at some point?.

You could have saved yourself all that trouble by looking at the millions upon millions who celebrate halloween every year and nary a demon is encountered.
P.S. You might want to be careful of smoking anything wrapped in paper that contains potentially toxic/ carcinogenic ink and bleaches.

Shift in beliefs?
by blankspace ini was wondering whether anyone observed this point in the previous week's wt study, in paragraph 17: "jehovah’s spirit moves “the faithful steward” to keep giving his servants their food supply.".
i see this as a subtle move away from earlier claims to be channel for spiritual food.
the gb earlier said that they weren't inspired or infallible.

Double Think/ Double Speak .... whatever you want to call it, this is yet another example of a “ mixed message” put out by the Watchtower where the rank and file get to hear what they want to hear (ears tickled) and yet there’s an “out” for the Watchtower where they can claim that overzealous publishers read more into their comment than was intended.

This kind of thing has long been tolerated in certain cultures so long as it wasn't done by westerners/europeans AKA white people. They are held to a different standard and are supposed to know better and be above this sort of thing which is supposedly borderline Pagan and even considered primitive.
We were even told that it would be displeasing to Jehovah to have friends over to our homes to study Sunday's Watchtower lesson because it wasn't sanctioned by the Society. I can only imagine what would happen if we organized groups of singers and salsa dancers even if Kingdom Songs were what they sang and danced to.
Kingdom songs were supposed to be a form of prayer or communication to Jehovah and were to be done in a reverent manner.
